EUR WATER TREATMENT CENTRE

EUR WATER TREATMENT CENTRE

Dominated by its imposing 120-metre-high water tower, the EUR Water Treatment Centre is a strategic infrastructure facility that supplies water to Rome’s southern districts, serving a population of approximately 400,000. The complex comprises an inlet tank with a capacity of approximately 800 m³, alongside an annular elevated tank of 1,700 m³, positioned at a slightly lower level than the top of the tower. At ground level, there are two large underground tanks with a combined capacity of around 35,000 m³, in addition to the control room and pump hall.

As part of the seismic vulnerability study, DIAMONDS carried out:

  • Visual inspection of the structure
  • Mechanical characterisation of materials
